3 Alarm Fire - Milton, MA
Milton firefighters battled strong winds as a 3 alarm fire tore through a home at 589 Adams St. People walking by the home reported seeing smoke coming from the second floor around 11:30am Thursday morning. The fire quickly spread out of control, forcing command staff to order a second and subsequent third alarm to help battle the blaze. Firefighters were ordered out of the building twice, as fire spread through the roof, causing it to collapse onto the second floor. Strong winds caused heavy black smoke to be spread throughout the surrounding neighborhood. No injuries were reported as firefighters worked for several hours to extinguish the fire. Fox 25 is reporting that one of those passers by ran into the burning home and helped get the disabled homeowner out of the house.

Taunton, MA General Alarm Fire
Photos from the Taunton, MA General Alarm at 137 Hart St on Friday night.
Firefighters responded Friday night around 11pm to multiple calls reporting smoke coming from the old Mozzone Lumber Co building at 137 Hart St. Upon their arrival, they had heavy smoke showing from 3/4 of the building and starting to push out of the front of the building. Fire quickly spread throughout the building, at which point, all firefighters were order out and to take a defensive operation. The Taunton Fire Deputy Chief said that early on they ran into water pressure issues. It was quickly determined that the best way to resolve those issues was to order the General Alarm and request the Tanker Task Force. Tankers from across the area arrived to set up a tanker shuttle system. At one point, the building had become fully engulfed with fire. "Due to the majority of the building collapsing, it is most likely a total loss. Once the fire investigation is completed, the rest of the building will have to be torn down," said the Deputy Chief. Firefighters worked well into the early morning hours trying to extinguish a fuel fed fire in the rear of the building, caused by a boat that was being stored inside with a reported 100 gallons of fuel inside it's tanks.

Pedestrian Struck - Quincy, MA
For the 4th time in 2 weeks, Quincy Police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a pedestrian struck. This time, at 5:49pm on Thursday, the accident occurred at the intersection of Granite St and Parker St in front of 159 Granite St. It appears the victim, a male in his 50's, was crossing Granite Street at the time of the accident. He was taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Granite St was closed between Fort St and the Granite St Connector while the Quincy PD Accident Reconstruction team worked to investigate the accident. The driver of the car, a female in her 40's, has not been charged or cited, and it is unclear at this time if any charges or citations will be filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
