In the early morning hours of Saturday December 10, 2011, Boston Police moved in to evict the Occupy Boston protesters that had called Dewey Square home for the past 2 months. After the Midnight deadline came and went on December 9th, the Boston Police and City Hall Officials received harsh criticism from those who wanted the Occupy movement removed. Just before 5:00am, Boston Police moved in with over 50 officers, some dressed in riot gear, to clean up Dewey Square and remove or arrest those who refused to leave. Boston Police Superintendent Williams said that dozens of arrests were made during the sweep.
Below are photos from Friday morning and during the eviction process.
